Very nice machine.
It's even nicer that you can still run the steam engine. I admire the state.

Yes, nice machine to be sure! I too only have one Marklin, but it is a horizontal, and not nearly as nice as yours. Enjoyed the video of a quality steamer going through its paces.

What are you talking about, you have one exactly like this and a newer larger version.

I would love to find a great 4112/14 for a center piece.

So you have only one - but a very nice one
with that beautiful colored platform.
I have a similar with the 11 cm Boiler and
would like to have a 14! But these are very
£££$$$€€€ ;)

I didn´t invent the comparison...  ;)
Rightfully it should be vomit, but forgot that in my haste commenting here...but figure it´s kinda the same thing either way.

I absolutely love them (and that era), and think the smoke paint looks amazing  8)

Jan I love engines with the smoked paint bases too. My Falk and Doll, is like that and Fleischmann made some
beauty's. They had one base color with smoke and some pin striping, not smoked vomit.
Cheers

Doesn’t mean I don’t like to see others in steam  ;)

Well, that's a clear case of quality over quantity!

I am very happy to own a very similar Märklin vertical, but without this wonderful "tiled" base...
I do like the unusual steam valve gear of this model!
