Request: Hi-Res Photo of B-33 Name Plate
« on: May 26, 2023, 06:38:21 am »
I was chatting with Alan of Al's Steam Engines and he said he could make me a Name Plate and then a decal over it if he got a high-resolution image.

Anyone have a good/clear example of a Empire B-33 Magnetic's Name Plate to attach, perhaps a few to insure the best image could be selected?  Seems like a good idea to try.

Thank you in advance!
Richard

I misread Alan email, he was saying the plate would be easy (for me) to make then apply a decal (made by me).  Either is really in my tool set, though if I find some help a nice high-res image would be nice to have - if any one happens to have a nice example.

What a strange fortunate of events... when you watch YouTubes!!

I was watching one of @Alan UK (RetroSteamTech) YouTubes about one of his B-33's and me mentioned another YouTuber, MyFordBoy, made him a nameplate for his B-33.  If you haven't seen MyFordBoy making a engine from the ground up, you should.

Seems I am always asking for help and if all you guys that have helped me ever get together I am pretty sure you would all decide I am annoying.  But I guess if you don't ask, you don't get it... So I figured I'd go beg MyFordBoy for a nameplate on his B-33 Video. Anyways, MyFordBoy responds and says to "email him", which I did.  He responded, "sure I make you one but I need some spray lacquer and if you buy that (£8) and cover postage I'll make you one!"

Wow! I captured the one MyFordBoy made in RetroSteamTech video and attached it here.

We're not "annoyed" with you Richard, on the contrary... Your enthusiasm is contagious and we've all been there at some time or another.
With accurate measurements my trophy and plaque guy could probably make up a metal tag for you as well, he's made many tags for me , some Empire ones.

Trophy guy, that's interesting.  How did your Empire one come out, love to see a photo of how it came out!  I suppose sometimes it all comes down to who you know.

Thank you Bruce for the kind words :-)

Richard, if we were annoyed with you, there wouldn't be many responses to your posts. We're just trying to help you out and settle you into the fold. As Bruce says, we've all been where you are now, though perhaps mostly without the amazing successes that you've been having here lately.

Wow, the my luck just doesn't seem to stop, it looks like Charlie aka @txlabman has let me know in a PM he has a B-33 donor engine that the label could come to me or I think that is what he meant.

Thank you @St Paul Steam & @Stoker for your kind words!

Just to closed this wanted tread, I got the B-33 from Charlie (via my brother) and have it installed.  So happy to have my B-33 complete!  Thanks @txlabman

You are welcome.

Sad to hear the B-33 I gifted your brother died.  I probably ran it 30 or 40 times on my test bench over 6 months with no issues.

Sound like you wore it out LOL

But really, its no biggie - it allowed me to deep dive into it and then for me to follow up with my B-33 and get it running even better!  So its a win-win my book ;-)
