Marklin 4117-8 parts
« on: September 07, 2022, 09:00:40 pm »
I like my 4117-8 and it is very clean but
could be better.  It is now a pretty good
runner as this new engine from EBAY Germany
works well.

Anyway, I now have a running 4117-8 and need
a proper steampipe with boiler fitting and
safety valve. Right now, as you can see
in the video, there is a regulator (not working)
and plastic tubing to a stub of steampipe
on the valve chest. The safety valve is a
Jensen S/V and works well, but an original
would be best. A smokestack and special
cord would be nice, too, but that would be
expensive, I'm sure.

If anyone can help me I'd be grateful.

Thanks,
Wayne

Hello Wayne - yes it is working - great
I will keep my eyes open for the Safety valve and
the Chimney - but the original cord/plug is very hard
to find. The steam pipe goes from the steam chest
directly to the boiler - there is no steam cock.
Greetings, Arnold :D

That is a cutie!

One strange thing on mine.  The engine frame has
two holes through which the crankshaft runs. the
engine frame on mine must have been drilled by a
worker who was distracted or drunk.  If you look
at the crankshaft closely you will notice the
right side is 1 or 2 millimeters lower than the
left. Maybe it was made on a Monday.  Didn't I
read once that some German factories have beer
vending machines on their premises?  Go figure.
