So, as for the "conservative" estimation, I have North of 2,500 pieces. While some low end engines are certainly worth in the $50/100 range, many of them have a value over $200, some of them way North of $1,000. I have in mind triple compression Stuarts, Dart full set train, Twin cylinder Empire and a full range of brand new, in the box, Wilesco engines, all way above the average price of $200 a piece...
So, I might not find someone with this kind of money who is both interested in steam and seeking a good long term investment. Probably a rare specie.
Certainly, the hundreds of engines I have that were made in the 1930's aren't manufactured any longer and will only become more difficult to find.
Remember the price of the Ford T, brand new and what they bring now ? :)
