Wilesco Ships Engine For Sale

As I have mentioned in some other posts, I am thinning a few things from my collection.

Up for sale, is a Wilesco Ships Engine with original box and all original parts.

The fuel tray reflects that it has been used.

I have never fired this up.  It looks like a previous owner may have fired it once or twice.

Very clean.

Price $150, including shipping in the lower 48.  Payment by PayPal Friends and Family.

I will ship internationally at actual cost, but that is probably cost prohibitive.

Not one response.

Second try to sell a high quality item here without a single response (even a good luck would have been appreciated).

Very disappointing.

This is only me second try at ever selling anything steam related.....I guess I am just better at giving things away.

I wanted to try here first.  I guess I will list on eBay or on the Mamod Forum.

Don't be disappointed Charlie, most forum buyers (I've found) are very discerning and want a bargain. I don't usually have very good luck selling on the forum , but I give it a try anyway.

I always got yelled at when I posted “good luck” or any comments on the for sale board, so now only say “pm sent” in them.

I can’t believe it wasn’t taken by someone, it was a very fair price, but I am out of buying right now (unless of course I find a ridiculous low BIN). I will enjoy watching your sale on ebay and hope it goes as high as some other recent listings.

   That is a very nice engine that I have seen listed only rarely on e-bay. I too was surprised that it wasn't sold already at that bargain price (even by someone wanting to re-sell it!). If I remember correctly, these typically trade for up to $300 or more, in such nice complete condition with the original box. I am guessing that you will do better on e-bay than the price you were asking here (even with the e-bay fees). I have some engines that I have been thinking about listing for sale here, but now I wonder if I should just go straight to e-bay with them.

   One of the best ways to support fellow forum members is to bid on (and bid up) their e-bay listings, which I have done numerous times in the past (but without them knowing about it!). I just did the same with yours (4 times), but was still automatically outbid by someone else every time, which bodes well for ultimately getting a good return on your end.
