I'm always searching through antique shops, rarely finding any deals... But I do try to take pictures of what I leave behind, and thought I'd share them here as I come across them...
Keep in mind, a lot of these will likely include "Antique Shop Prices" $$$
If I remember right, the tractor was about $185 and log wagon $100-125
This one came home with me for about a day, and was shipped off to a forum friend in a trade. If you look closely, you'll notice a pump on the back side of the boiler

Weeden 43 at $169
Mamod TE missing canopy at $175
Boxed Wilesco roller, not a terrible price at $125, but missing chimney and some minor paint bubbling from rust
Wilesco missing oiler screw-on cover at $129
This little Empire pump came home with me, it had nearly perfect paint and it was hard to pass up at $69

I was very excited when I spotted this little badge out of the corner of my eye
Unfortunately it wasn't an engine
Had a very nice box with it too
I did find a Weeden in the same shop, but left it behind... priced at $160 and I was told I could take 20% off

I know many have a strong dislike for Esbit and other solid fuels, but I couldn't leave this behind either. Think it was somewhere around $20-25
Original price of $2.69
They were sitting on display on top of an old dining room set because the shop owner didn't quite know what they were for. She thought they were hand warmers.
There was also a boxed/unfired SE2a (missing the burner) but I passed on it because they wanted $142.95 -

Here's an old find, my first cast base Jensen, 11 years and one week ago... 3/11/08
Probably paid a little too much, but that was before I became an "ebay addict"
The interesting part of this engine is that it has stayed in Minnesota since leaving the Jensen factory.
A label from Sears in Minneapolis, MN.(94 miles from me)
Then it traveled 111 miles to a Sears in Austin, MN. (38 miles from me)
Then through several years, it ended up in an Antique shop in Rochester, MN (43 miles from Austin), where I purchased it -

Thanks Jim, I've got a few more pictures from antique shops buried away somewhere... and I believe my only other shop purchase was an AHI workshop (battery or steam powered)
I hope to add more to this thread and welcome anyone else to post their antique shop finds here

Its the same down here Nick "antique shops" think that they really have something with an old Wilesco or Mamod and ask outrageous prices, its always a thrill and gets the blood pumping when you find something to view though.

same here whenever I've found any toy steam related...they think they aren't made anymore & price accordingly.

Good find! All I ever see is usually rubbish. Reminds me of a sign once that said, "We buy junk, but we sell antiques!".

No culture for model-engines on my part; and have never seen anything remotely associated with steamengines in antiques-shops on my part

Here's one of the nicest looking gray-based Wilesco engine/workshops that I've seen and would have loved to have added it to the collection, but they were very firm on their $299 price tag

A couple of years ago I bought one of those Mamod log wagons at a big antique flea market for $10.00 Canadian! Never saw as good a deal before or since....
