Weeden 44
« on: July 10, 2020, 08:55:55 am »
Just received my second Weeden...and now is down to just 2 more of the brand to complete the very short Weeden wanted-list here  :)

Itīs a very nice Weeden 44, which is all complete and functional, besides a missing chimney (which i had to borrow from my 43 for the photo) and a few minor leaks here and there.

that is a very nice condition engine Jan, and a beautiful Runner as well, nice score on that one. 😊

One that is still on my want list Jan.

A very nice example.  Congratulations!

What are the other two on your want list?

Thanks guys  :)

Charlie, i am not that much of a Weeden fan, but there just seems to be exceptions to every rule, doesnīt there?
The wooden bases, and the clear red colour combined with chrome, just drew me towards the National Playthings era 43/44 models, which both now is well represented here.
The other two of interest, would be the slightly older and much more sturdy looking, "Empire knock-off" models 670 and 672.

It has a great sheen.
If I had the storage space... And the money... I'd have a few more engines.

Interesting.  I have very nice examples of the 670 and 672, but not a 44.  I will continue to search for a nice one.

I never thought of the 670 and 672 being Empire Knock Offs.  But, they sure do look like a bit of IP theft.
