My Great-great Grandfather c1880's
« on: February 01, 2020, 10:16:30 am »
Was digging through some old family photo albums and found one of my great-great grandfather eyeing up a toy steam engine in a grocery store back in the 1880's

Funny how much he looks just like my son...

The resemblance is amazing!

Google tells me the original rounded-top baseball cap came out in 1860, I'm sure it looked nothing like this one... but I had to go back and edit out the logo as Caterpillar wasn't around for another 40 years and that logo not until 100+ years later  :D

Amazing how clean it has been kept through the years... you'd think it would be full of oil stains by now...  ;)
