Made a wooden stopper for the fill hole out of paint brush handle, works good.

Your stopper does look great, but I took the easy way and picked up some small corks at the hardware store for a nickel a piece.


I have to make the stopper for safety valve yet. Made one before for my old beam engine, my avatar, it's just a little different in the height.

I do not know if any of my Buckmans have an original arm/weight/stopper as they are all different. The one on this engine is homemade from a strip of copper and a screw head soldered on. The slot is filled with solder, very clever and easy way to make the seal. Hopefully you can see it in one of these pictures...
