The plug in the top of the boiler has me puzzled... forgot to get a picture of the top side that’s recessed, but the underside/bottom of the plug looks like this... Made to blow open easy if the cork fails??

I know there is a twin version of this engine, I’m surprised they didn’t use it for the workshop... But the cylinder is quite a bit chunkier than the average:

Also uses a 3 wick burner like the twin fire pumper

That's unusual, I wonder how that came to be designed like that?

No idea Jim, maybe a previous owner hit it with a chisel or flat screwdriver to confuse me  :D

That's an impressive workshop. Just amazing to think of the kid(s) that originally played with these, its now a totally different world than what they knew.

Sure wish I had something like this as a kid!

Cleaned some of the dirt out of that mysterious boiler plug a little and got some pictures of the top. Looks like an insert that is pressed in...

Also dug out the remains of the fire hose from the twin fire pumper that I mentioned earlier. I bought this in 2019 and it was previously sold at the Max Berry sale in 2015. I believe these extras were complete in that sale and didn’t hold up to well to when I bought it...

Well, I see there’s a few stragglers still hanging out in the Engineer’s Hall that won’t go home  :D

They’ve made me pack up most of my table, but I found this one tucked below that never got unpacked on Friday... Since a few of you are still here with me I just gave it a run. Not quite a Buckman and 100 years newer, but a very good copy by Russell Snyder. Just waiting on YouTube to do its processing...

That was fast! Just after submitting my post, the video finished  ;D  I was hesitant on firing this as I don’t think it’s been steamed before, but Tommy said he likes twins, so @Woe is me this one’s for you!

Enjoy! It’s all I’ve got!
For now at least...  :D

Yes, HIGHLY recommend this burner. It’s 1” diameter and only 3/4” high, instead of 1” high like the rest of their round burners. I’ve even used it on my HOG stirling
