Brass tags appeared in the late 1940's on the #20 Big Power Plants with horseshoe generators both blue and red.
All the brass tags on all Collector series Jensens which include styles #20, 55, 50 were all made as #20 tags and the 20 was scraped off or X'd over and re-stamped with a 55 or 50. In other words, all the brass tags for all 55's for 20 years were re-stamped #20 tags.
Decals were used on number 50's from the very beginning up through the mid to late 1950's. Brass tags were used on #50's beginning late 1950's or 1960. My 1960 #50 confirms the use of a re-stamped #20 brass tag as does the first 50 with 3 heaters from the early 1960's. Bill's 1940's #50's, 1 red horse shoe and 1 blue horse shoe all have decals.
The chicken barn 50 from the mid to late 1960's and before immersion heaters has an aluminum tag correctly stamped.
The earliest #55 we have seen came from Nick and belongs to Bill. It is a 1940's piece with a solid wood base, re-stamped brass tag, and cloth cord.
Jack, is this the other one from the same family?
