engines at Sanfilipo

This is the engine hall at the Sanfilipo museum, New Barrington, IL. I counted about 40 engines in this building, many more in the main house.  Google Sanfilipo foundation for info on how to visit.

Great photo!  8)  I would love to see this in person. I've got an aunt in McHenry that I stay with on my way out to NAMES in Michigan and it looks like this is only 1/2 an hour drive... very tempting...  :)

Sadly, Jasper Sanfilippo has just passed away:

I was fortunate enough to visit the collection twice (west of Chicago) but now it's by invitation only. Fortunately everything will be preserved by his foundation. Participants in the local engine show and an annual phonograph/music box show get invitations to tour his collection each year. He also has one of the world's best collections of mechanical music.
