1/4 Scale Model of a 4 HP Star Hit & Miss Gas Engine
« on: November 07, 2020, 06:20:12 pm »
I think it was 2011 when I last made a video of this engine.
It was clearly time to bring it up from the shop and set it on a bench to run on a perfect indian summer day. It was 70 F today!

Once it was running, I found it was also the right time to film it again.

Below is the result.

Enjoy,

Alan

Hi Gil
Thank you for the video
The Star is a fascinating engine.
I think now this will remain a dream to get one.
Greetings from Switzerland
Stay safe

What a beautiful machine. It is made to a standard of perfection. The slow motion parts make the operation of its features very clear. I especially liked the method of initiating the spark on the top of the engine with contact breaker mechanism being operated by a push rod. If I owned that, I would never tire of watching it run. Magnificent.
