Thomas, the screws are not always easy to get the wrench inserted all the way. Sometimes it helps to put a little extra effort into holding the wrench straight and with a little pressure holding it all the way in. Some of the screws have something resembling loctite on them. Removing the lower piston ring also helps allow better and more complete lubrication. Mixing Coleman fuel or a pure fuel (with no ethanol and all the other poisons in automotive fuel) about 20 to 1 with Marvel Mystery Oil is a good idea.
Best of luck with it.
