Hello everybody,
I have not made any further attempts with the screws so far.
But I filled the hole on top of the base with JB-Weld and epoxy filler and than filed and sanded the surface.
Here is a picture with the engine on top of it.

Next, the holes for fixing the engine have to be drilled.
