A couple observations....
I just had a second look at the screw and removed it.
Clearly not a retainer screw for the sleeve because it isn't long enough to get anywhere close to the sleeve.
It may be there to add a faux oiler with the same thread.
Or put the hole to use by boring all the way through - remove piston first.
Then chamfer the inside edges of the hole to insure no interference with the piston skirt. You should remove the sleeve for this operation and it may need glue to set back in position.
To add a real oil cup or drip oiler, find the smallest oiler you can acquire or make and bore the original hole and thread to match it.
Another option is to bore a tiny hole in the sleeve and use the original hole as a cup for a couple drops of oil.
