Third and Fourth Days at Coolspring Engine Show
« on: June 18, 2021, 06:07:02 pm »
Although yesterday brought no great new finds, nor any sales of items I had brought along to help pay for my obsessions, today brought the purchase of a Canfield hit and miss engine.  This particular model serial number shows that it was a factory-built one.  Other options were buying it as a casting set or buying it as a machined set of castings, which just required assembly.  The highly sought after ones are the factory-built engines.

As the day went on, I also managed to sell several of my more expensive pieces, leaving me at an almost break-even point for the week!  That's always a good thing, as it leaves more money for the next show.  There is one day left, usually a slow day, as most people have already left.  If it is raining, I will stay home.  If not, then I will run up to see if there are any last-minute bargains to be had.

Nice video Doug , I like that one very much , something about all the pipework rising up like skyscrapers in the horizon has a particular appeal to me , the horizontal governor balls is also very unique. NICE engine & runs a treat.

I'm not sure, but Debolt in Ohio is the builder- you could contact them.

The 2 exhaust pipes are an eye catcher. Explanation is that it is a "double ported" engine.I will have to do some research for an explanation.
