A early post WW2 Jensen #10 steam engine.

A early post WW2 Jensen #10 steam engine. Made immediately following WW2 when Tom Sr. used up the few remaining 1930's parts. This has the riveted boiler with a separate lamp post on the wooden base. A unique 1930's style engine built in the late 40's or 1950. Painted the post-war dark blue instead of the robbins egg blue.

A very nice engine there Jack, thanks for sharing!

Had it been late 40s or early 50s, it wouldn´t have had the riveted boiler or the standalone lamppost.
This leans more towards the mid than the late 1940s, made from leftover pre-war parts, just as soon as Jensen was freed up from their WWII government contract.
Also it should indeed "typically carry a bit of a premium", as casually remarked in the movie, being as rare as it is, when compared to both earlier and later versions.

It sure looks alot better removed from that wooden crate.

Jan is correct.

It is an immediate post war piece which makes it squarely in the mid 1940's. 

Only the first few after WW2 had this configuration with dark blue paint, rivets, and stand alone lamp post.

Congratulations, Jack! I saw that one on eBay, and was very tempted, but I had just bought another #10 in very nice original condition. Noticed that the auction ended "because there was an error in the listing." Yes, the error was too high a starting bid.  ;) Glad it found a worthy home!
