I always work at my bench in coat and tie, and the "bullet" pointed little women always waits on me there, serving up whatever I may wish.

This may be back in the day ....... but it looks just like my life today!!!

A tie around machinery and no safety glasses and she looked like she could have poked both his eyes out at the same time.

Yep, those were pretty much my thoughts too!

Actually, back at the turn of the previous century, machinists did wear at least vest and tie ... and apron or loose shop coat, to work on their machine tools, that were all driven by belts coming down from jackshafts in the ceilings. There wasn't a safe square foot in the whole plant, so might as well wear a tie .... well tucked!?!?
