got mine today as well, it is worth the wait , although mine only took 15 days, & was packaged adequately

That's running your Baker fan without a care in the world Bruce.
What a great Stirling Cycle Engine!
That's running your Baker fan without a care in the world Bruce.
What's kind of neat Jim was that I am running it right now & went through a tank of fuel (noticed the flame was burning out) took the pot out , filled it up again & put it back under without the engine even stopping , & I wasn't trying to finish before the engine quit running, that thing has amazing sustaining ability.
I consider this engine one of the best values per funds spent.
What should I use (if anything) to lube that brass cylinder assembly ?

G'day Bruce, I'm really tickled pink every time I light the wick and fire it up. Its just so well constructed and looks
really nice.
I'm impressed too how long it goes when the wick goes out, neat idea to refuel and keep it going
So far I have only put a few drops of 3 in 1 oil on the mechanical moving parts. I'll use graphite on the other moving part.
P.s gotta' make me one of those Baker fans, no way it will look as neat as yours though. Yours looks like a perfectly scaled down version to a 'T'.
Looks like mine is starting to work it's way through the US postal system and hopefully I should get it some time next week. I can hardly wait!
And yes, that Baker fan is awesome!
I'm now an official member of the Tarot Stirling engine club as mine arrived safe and sound in the mail yesterday!
At first I was having a bit of trouble keeping it running but determined that my old can of alcohol had taken on a bit of moisture over the years by the color of the flame and the sputtering and popping. Picked up a new can today, gave the engine a bit of lube from the pen oiler and lit her up. Much better flame this time. Got it running and after a bit of time the RPM's started to ramp up and it started to run great like the other videos I've seen.
By the way, how the devil are you guys getting the cap off the burner? Mine is so tight I usually have to pry it off with a razor blade.
Burner aside, I'm very happy with this engine! Runs great and it's a beauty. I was actually planning on building a small Stirling engine fan, but this thing already has me spoiled and I would be hard pressed to match the craftsmanship. They did a really good job.
About the only thing I'm planning on adding is a pulley so this engine can do some work.

Mine is so tight the first time it really stumped me getting it off. I now grab the tip where the wick is with a rag and sort of pull and pry it off and mine is still tight.
That fuel cap is a bugger ,I have a hard time getting it back on tightly , finally figured out you have to put the far side in 1st & compress that narrow 0 ring Against the back and force the front down into place.
Quite well made aren't they 😉👍
While the engine is great, I did have to spend some time in the shop to make it a little better. Now that we know this engine has some power, I had to make a pulley for the flywheel shaft.

It's a Jensen-type, but made of brass. I think it's looking pretty good on an already pretty engine.
Next I had to work a bit on that alcohol burner.

Chucked the bottom in the lathe and bored a couple thousands off the inside. Probably could have taken another thou off as the lid is still plenty tight, but at least it fits properly now.
Time to put this engine to work.
