Boiler construction and operation.

I thought I ha. Already posted but using both iPhone and iPad required sign in o both. I thought they updated each other Ut maybe not.
So I’ll start over until I this figured  out.

I really want to standardize th boiler fittings as much as possible even if I have to use adaptors or bushings. I’ll have to have taps Andries either way I guess.e engine I’m getting his 1/4 x40 TPI ME threads pretty much where steam goes in or out. I’m getting two fittings that are threaded on one end. I’m planning on either soldering the connector itting to ghem or using a high temp tailless steel braide hose with. Appropriate fittings. This stuff is readily available . The hose fitting can be either stainless or aluminum AN oreSAE hydraulic. I v
Can have crimped fittings made too.it’s heat te far above what I’ll be using and I can get flown hose too. It’s just not quie as. Flexible.

So I just read that I need a purge valve. To purge right before start up. Sounds reasonable se I yhin Yahtzee. What the. Big railroad steamers  did in the station. Big blast of steam under the engine with great whistle blast. Of course need a whistle. It’s looking more and more like I’ll nea manifold for the. Extra ports.  There will be pressure and hopefully  temp. Water level drain fill, I’ll fitting for the semi auto fill pump and several  extra ports Also a auto

I’m gage Nubia guess. My street rod dash looked like aircraft instrument panel. relief valve  valve.

So I’m running out of room Otho of a 14” long boiler. I can see a fitting station nw already.  I’ve made these before so a problem. I’d just lido kep fittings standard. Ss possible.

I found several tap and die sets, but now I’m confused by metric fittings. I planed on 1/8” NP as much as possible bu now there are at lest4 metric fittings listed in the option selector forvsrius items such as water level relief valve drain even gages. My engine is only 5”x 5” and I allowing wire that on the display board. He boiler Wilber huge compared to he engine. I should have the tube tomorrow. My initial tube turnout scrapped. Due. To tapered wall thickness.  This one is 3/26” wall nut still well with hoop stress. Even adding temp. The ends will be Ted in similar to rail road rivets. Stainless button easy screws.. just got the firs electric heater. I have. Second ordered that’s a bit higher wattage. I’ll have provision to us both if necessary.

This started out as a simple two cylinder beginner model.  Now a monster 4 cylinder with giant boiler. I was  going to have  a display board of laminated oak and maple. Like he old textile floors scaled own of course . It’s. To be glossy mirror smooth resin coated but is . Rapidly getting close to bowling alley size now.LOL. It will be like a miniature steam plant I think.so some comments on fittings and ages woul be gretlapreciated. I have found a few supplies of small steam gages but ostandard sizes. Auto digital electrics would b cool bt$1,000 price tag.
