I'm a newbie to this new site. I joined the Model and Toy
Steam Forum last summer and now discovered this gem.
I live in Brooklyn and would like to plan a 'Steam-Up' day
for later in the Spring/early summer. At the very least I
can just go out on my front porch and start my steam engines
for all to see. It would be more fun if other Steamers joined
in. Maybe, we could start a local, low-key club.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. In
the meantime, I have to do a first steamup of my SEL
Standard model 1540. Original burner, too. Sweet!
FYI... I also collect MARX trains, work agate rough, and
have a comic collection I'm selling bit-by-bit on EBAY.
Turning comics into MARX tin trains and steam engines...
what a life.

Hi Wayne,
A quick check says I'm 3,394 miles away so I may be late.
Sounds like a great idea, will keep fingers crossed for you Wayne.
...and waddya know, i myself was years ago a vigorous collector of comics, who later turned my interest towards steam...and Marx tin trains.
Not all that much difference inbetween the US and Scandinavia in that regard it would appear
hello Wayne and welcome aboard, it would be nice to have a team up with local like-minded hobbyist , it has been difficult for me to achieve this in the past years.I am fortunate that I live close enough IndianaRog to have visited occasionally.
I would love to join you, but you’re a bit of a drive from MN. My best suggestion is Cabin Fever in PA next January, I plan to attend along with many forum members, and hopefully one International member

I would also suggest sticking around here and bringing this topic back to the top every few weeks as maybe a new member will join that is near you
