I painted the regulator/throttle gumdrop knob.  I forgot to mention when I was drilling holes to get the keeper pin out, it isn't wood.  It isn't bakelite, I don't think, either.  I've seen some of the B30/31 engines whistle/throttle knobs made of the same stuff.   

I have a new can of Krylon K05503007 Banner Red COLORmaxx (Paint and Primer) and it would just run off of the knob.  So wiped / cleaned the knob again and started with Rust-oleum Self-Etching Primer, then put on the Banner Red.  That seemed to work.

Once I can get my grimy oily fingers on it a bit, I think it will look better.
