Remember, polishing, much like oil for engines that runs less than ½ hour a year, is religion in collector circles.
The less you have to going on, the bigger is the single issue.
My two cents worth on the matter:
If you´re talking Wilesco, then it isn´t much of a problem. If your have to polish so much that you go through, that boiler was deemed dead from pitting before you started.
Quite hard to work through a Wilesco plating compared to many others...actually to the point where i suspect they might be chromed and not just nickelplated.
Personally i am solely using Autosol, which is a fat white cream like Mother´s Finest, Maas and Simichrome, but in my opinion the best of the four.
Wouldn´t touch any of the obsolete granny products like Brasso, that you have to shake for minutes to loosen it up, just to end up with a much too thin lumpy substance anyway.
Anyway, if you use your sound mind, towards what you´re working on specifically at the moment, it doesn´t matter much which brand you use.
