Hi Jim, I don't know if they have improved this stuff and they likely have since the temp ratings are considerably higher than they were. The VHT was claimed good for 500 degrees F.

The old VHT clear was never perfectly clear in my experience. It was always a little hazy.

I would be very interested to know more if you should try it out on an engine.
