Where did you look for MAAS at? I believe it’s only like $5 tube at Walmart. It’s in the kitchen/bathroom cleaning supplies (mops and chemicals etc) next to grocery. It is lavender scented and works just as good as plain Maas or simichrome.
Hi Greg, First of all CONGRATULATIONS...!!!
This Transition #35 is a fine addition to your collection.
Please do not use Brasso on any of these.
It has a much rougher abrasive than the fine jewelers rouge found in Maas.
Your ceramic cartridge heater is found in all transition transition #35s.
And... all forgotten 35s have the round hot plate style heater.
By the way it looks great!
Gil
Thank you Nick and Gil for the advice, education, and compliments. I will definitely look for MAAS polish at Wal-Mt, there are several types listed on e-bay, but all at sky-high prices of almost $50 (or more), even for used partial tubes! I did not believe that Brasso was appropriate, and now I know for sure. I will update my news on this 35 after I get the new sight glass and try to get it running.

What the heck?!?! I haven’t bought Maas for a couple years but there is no way it could be this much??? Maybe $10 at the most? I would have no problem paying $10-15 for how far the tube goes

Yikes, I will look for it the next time I am in a Wal-MT, but sounds like my prospects won't be good. My boiler will most likely remain as-is for now, still looks pretty good, oh well!
