well, I got too fancy with it, and drilled the end of the crack. soldered up nice, now the cylinder ends leak more than the barrel at least haha! Drilled hole is definitely the most noticeable spot for the repair, but over all it turned out decent. there is a little bit of solder on the surface of the nickle that will eventually darken and be pretty obvious, but I figure I will just scotchbrite it away after a few times. Went ahead and steamed it, and found out that -to no ones surprise- the sightglass was no where near ready for that hahaha. cut off a can bottom to catch the water as it leaked, and got a head of steam in no time, enough to turn it over for a few minutes.
