Now for the recent photos...
I still need to locate a new blowdown valve as the one that came with it has terrible threads. I know I have one here somewhere.
I removed nearly all the rust from the firebox and chimney stand lip. With an eye towards leaving the original paint alone rather than repainting where the paint is mostly good, I applied Gun Blue to the exposed clean metal which makes it a lot easier on the eye.
Used 2 new site glass blocks along with all the 1950's parts and I believe (and hope) it is leakproof.
Installed a new adapter nipple to connect the feed water tube to the boiler.
Put an extra bend in the feed water tube to make up for the board being narrower when it was pressed together to make up for the shrinkage over the last 70 or so years.
The decal is just resting there. I destroyed one after a soak while trying to remove it from it's backing.
Enjoy!
