New to me old steam engine from the Dublin NH show

Hi folks
While wondering the Dublin gas engine show I saw and purchased this old steam engine. I don't see any markings on it, so I think it may be home made. The steel boiler tank is 5 inches dia. by 8 inches log. The steel flywheel is 4 inches dia. I think the long handle is a water pump, but not sure. It has an electric heating element. Does anybody know anything about this engine? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to get it into running shape again.

What I can tell you is that it was originally set up to be a twin cylinder oscillator, but it is missing the outboard cylinder and rod.

Yes, that is a feedwater pump for adding water to the boiler under pressure.

It looks like it is probably home-made, or mostly so, but could well have had some possible kit origins too.

With a lot of work, you may have a rather interesting steam plant there, provided the boiler is actually sound.

Looks like you had fun at the Dublin Engine Show!

I was there all day Friday and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I didn't bring home any engines this time however I did get to catch up with a lot of friends.

Thanks for the info Stoker and Gil, I did have fun. When I bought it I didn't even notice that it was a twin cylinder. Today I made a new cylinder and piston. While I was taking it apart I found lots of broken and un soldered pieces of pipe. The big boiler must weigh 5 pounds and is super solid. It's nice to see it fell into the hands of somebody capable of machining the missing parts and the expertise in being able to restore it!!!

I found out today that the boiler works great, but is real dirty inside. The water and steam coming out are black. Any ideas on how to clean the inside of a boiler? It is so heavy, I think it is made of cast iron. Know where I can get a steam whistle to go atop of the boiler where it is broken?
I am also wonder why the 2 bigger diameter lines coming out of the steam chest goes up into the air. Shouldn't be pointed down so it can drain?
The hand water pump isn't working, so I have new check valves coming and hopefully that will fix that problem.
