Lol!....thanks Jim for the fix..a used D10 that I picked up for nearly pocket change showed up early today...so I am actually looking for #3....the D10 was a bit long in the tooth but a good cleaning improved it to quite respectable.
  I did find the eccentric was loose and no longer running the slide valve...an easy fix but likely why it was taken out of service and sold on the cheap.
  As I have so little invested I plan to modify it extensively!...to be continued....
