Hey Guys
Is this the oldest American Live Steam Model?  From a toy company? Theres bound to be a few but I cant find many sources


First I thought this was a Schoenner or a Stevens Dockyard but after much research I believe I have a 1870 to 1880 Stevens and Brown 2-2-2 Model Dockyard "Dragon"  locomotive. This was made in Connecticut.  I have found few American Models older than this but not many are live steam and American Made   I think the weeden dart was 1880s 1890s. was the next closest American made live steam Train.

The safety Valve is beautiful and the sight glass is how I identified.  Also with Measurements.

Loco and tender 18 inches bumper to bumper.  Loco is 11  tender 7  top of chimney is 7inches

2.5inch boiler diameter (65mm).

Main drive wheel Between 2.75 and 3 inches and Almost 3 apart.  This is a floor train so all the wheels do not line up.  The front ones tilt right and back ones tilt left causing train to ride in a circle  the tender has matching displaced wheels.  The cast brass wheels are flanged for looks only. 

The boiler is a Japanese Laquer? and banded.  Does not quite seem blued.  I think its rose brass or colored brass with 2 obvious copper pieces on tender and loco.

The safetyvalve and work is amazing.

this missing burner most likely is why this is in near mint condition.

I assumed a remake but everything says original from green wheel enamel and the glass on sight glass as well as screws and hand grooving on many parts.

Any info is appreciated.

Any thing I have wrong Id love to make corrections.

Also.  I know a lot of you are asking about my Hello Kitty tv.  its a BEAST.  Made 2012 it has 2two hdmi 1 one rca 1 one vga 1one digital audio out(orange rca) one 3.5mm out one cable/antenea one vga connection and 1 one usb.   Runs on 12v 2000mah adapter.  Its 1080p 15.6 resolution  Best table tv ever i have a firestick attached and watch your youtube vids on it.

it literally connects all except optical digital and a few other.  Best monitor ever

That hello Kitty would have caused a bit of conflict around here, both of my granddaughters would have been begging me for it. Even had to drive all over town to find a second identical Hello Kitty plate so they both had one when they came over.

More importantly, that locomotive is stunning, love the details on it.

I got it on ebay its my kitchen mini tv or work table tv.  They had a 19 inch one but its 720p the 15inch all were 1080p.  No idea why.

More importantly.  As for this LOCO.  I may be WRONG.  I got a JE Stevens Brown 1872 Catalogue it was not present but 2 other steam engines were.  I am basing all my info on web research however.  There is 1 large photo of dribblers this is seen bottom right then the TCA website.  Otherwise Im ckueless again.  Gonna make a burner this week.

I was hoping catakogue would show pics of train and a burner Im gonna free lance it.  Im gonna make it very underpowered so as not to fry off the coating.

I want nothing more than to sit or stand as this does piddle dribble circles around me.

Was my very first thought.  But Im not sure anymore.  I wish I had catalogues of these.  This engine is very finely built  Anyone helping identify it fully let me know I can measure or photograph anything.  I was planning on contacting museums this week.  The craftsmanship on this is amazing.  Its one of my best engines.  It will not run on track its flanged but the wheels are all cocked and turned to do a clockwise circle.  It compresses for a whistle blow if i hand turn the wheels backwords so both oscilating cylinders work.

It was never made to run on tracks.  It is a "floor model".

I have looked through my reference books and I haven't found any information on it.
