Guys you’ve seen this plant a lot but I’ve learned a lot on this journey as my first steam plant and know more then I ever have!

The entire steam line on the old setup was very long and leaked tons of steam because when I built the steam line 7 months ago I was a noob and didn’t know to seal the joints, with tape or L542.

Today I said “Okay, I need to redo this and seal these pipes”; so I redid the entire steam line.

The perks to this is that the steam line is stable and sturdy due to a new support bracket installed under the governor by the steam chest.  Also, I moved the whistle closer to the boiler and it stays warm and doesn’t spray water everywhere. I’ve experimented with lots of different aspects over the months for this and this is best.  Also, the steam line is half the length it was before, providing hotter steam and more power, aside from no leaks.

Also having the oiler closer to the steam chest helps tremendously.

All in all, it’s pretty much done now.    I’d say this project was a learning curve to say the least but the finishing product turned out to be beautiful!
