I know Clinton Taylor will have one soon... Phil at Forest Classics told him there are not too many of the 500 left, so I thought there would be at least one or two on here.

I will hold off and hope to find one second hand someday...

I have one of the olders ones , while they are impressive big and a little more to fettle with....they are still a Wilesco , just more of it. From what I'm hearing,  they've cheepened up even more on the newer ones , for that price ...that is a shame.

I have an older one that I bought from another Forum Member. It is in mint condition. It has its original instructions and a separate Wilesco lineshaft and is from the mid-1980s.

I have only run it on air and I am considering selling it.

If I do, I will offer it here first.

I have a D32 purchased 03.22.2021.
Came in wood box and shipped in good condition.
Ran the unit three times and it did run well. Is it perfect ...gentlemen nothing is perfect in life but this is very close.
Great fun and am now searching for accessories to run off transmission gear.
Thanks
Howard

I've got one too. 125 of 500, bought from wilesco.no - guess it's not the fastest seller. He still claims to have in stock, so the D32 must be a real shelfwarmer.

I have to say the left flywheel does seem a tiny bit wobbly, while the right has some awful run-out on the axle. At the eye-watering price this Dampfmaschine sells for, you'd expect the wheels to go straight.

I'm still very happy with this engine, but the sproing drive belt was utterly useless. Ministeam's rubber belt does the job, and you can use two.

just for you information my D32 is #302 and you are right not a big seller. The left wheel does have a slight wobble the right wheel looks good. . The sump pump works however it is loud unless you turn your speed down...the RPM indicator looks ok  but I have no idea if it is correct.
Yes the boiler spout leaks a little so I am going to look for one of those mini pails.

I too seek to change belts for the transmission does struggle somewhat.....but happy to have one D32

regards

Picked this one up this year.
I also have a nice 1960's version.
I've been wanting a new one since they first came out but had just bought #4 of the new Jensen #50's in 10/2016 so my funds were low.. lol
Here is a short video..
It's still in the box.

Boy, what a beautiful display of model steam engines.
Of course I cannot compare...my D32 #302  looks just like your models and features are PROBABLY THE SAME.
Question is when do you get the chance to run some of these models and second your cabinet display is outstanding ...just impressive to say the least.
Enjoy in good health

impressive but quite pricey

are there similar engines that have control panels like this?

Very few other than the occasional home-built steam plant.

There is one other that has an even more impressive control panel, but it hasn't been made in years and is essentially unobtainable at anything like an affordable price.

I speak of the Jensen #51, which was only produced on an extremely limited basis many a long year ago!
