Cracking good job! Tom Senior is smiling.
What about the other one off to the side in the photos?
Wayne
Hi Wayne, Off to the right is an all original 1930s Jensen #50.
Superb craftsmanship, Gil! It’s looking fantastic!
Thanks Mike!
Long time in the making and well worth the effort.
It looks GREAT!! What a beautiful 50!
Thanks and welcome aboard!
WOW Gil, now that's an 'Atomic Resto' to quote Rog!!!
Rough & Nasty it may have been ...... but Smooth & Svelte is clearly it's destiny now!!!
Gil,
This could be a display piece in a museum; but hard to part with, with such beauty.
You did a fantastic job. Jaw is on the floor.
Update...
Here are 2 photos of the Stuart fittings original to this boiler. I fitted the glass tube and tested with air pressure and water. No leaks!
The new pump wasn't holding water in the boiler so I opened it to access the check balls and gave them a tap to better seat them. Also added a spring to keep the exit check ball more firmly seated. I will need to inspect the spring after a few runs. I think it is steel and will deteriorate quickly. )OK for testing but wants to be brass)
I have also pressed in a new crosshead pin as the original was well worn.
Gil
