SA Motor
« on: August 07, 2021, 02:25:25 pm »
Today, I received my S-A Motor, Stirling engine. Mine is serial number 70. These have a connection to the Boeing corporation. They run very nicely on very little heat. Does anyone else have one?

Congratulations!

Did see it listed, and it´s the first i´ve seen.
What is the connection to Boing?

Looks like a very well made engine, and i´d love to see a movie of it running if possible :)
Cheers
Jan

I'm trying to get the full story. Four Boeing engineers built them for "seed money" to start their own business, building power generating Stirling engines from four cylinder automobile engines. 5,000 model engines were supposed to be made, but only 113 were made. More when I get more information.

I am in the process of building a burner now, then I will make a video. I also have to make some sort of a chimney wind block.

Great catch! I was bidding on that too. Went way higher than I expected, but I had no idea about the story behind it. Very interesting. Looks like a very high quality build.

Every moving part runs on Oilite bearings. Even the cylinder is turned of Oilite. I never thought of using Oilite for a power cylinder.
