...I have just found a catalogue entry for this engine from 1899 (Christmas edition...).
The price given is "18Mk", and "20Mk" for the version with water pump.
On the internet I found that for 1899, a realistic exchange rate would be 17,82€ for 1Mk (Goldmark), so the price would be 320,76€. Cheap in comparison to actual WILESCO or MAMOD prices...
Or in their own words "Vorstehende Maschine ist bez(üglich) der Ausführung und des Preises ohne Konkurrenz" (the aforementioned engine is without competition regarding its quality and price)!

please do not forget that money had a completely different value at that time, and steam engines of this size and quality were almost unaffordable for a normal worker.
