Scott Rouze engines recycled
« on: December 31, 2021, 05:24:26 pm »
Looks like some of Scott's engines are now being sold again on Ebay; I recognize this one because the auction mixed up the correct stack with one from a Carette engine; this Doll has the Carette stack: https://www.ebay.com/itm/284588934818?hash=item4242d286a2:g:q34AAOSwIchhyb-y

Brent, I think I was on the phone with you when the hammer came down on this one. I missed a higher bid by what must have been a millisecond.

I thought maybe they were close to the auction house , but Denver Pa to Brewster Ma. is a 5.47 hr drive.

^^^By the way, look at the shipping prices from ebay seller Walnutts on the 2 above… auctions ended a couple mins apart but nearly a $50 difference in shipping!

You have to really get a bargain on these engines if you plan to resell them , by the time you have them shipped to you (without damage) ,pay the shipping fees , the buyers premium... Ect. Usually there's not much meat left on the bone after everyone else gets their share.

Yes Nick, I have bought from 'Walnutts' in the past with shipping all the way to Australia; No problems.

I have also bought a number of engines from them with no issues. An A++++ eBay seller.  And I am happy for them to make a profit off of auction buys.  So much less hassles than trying to deal with the Auction Houses (unless you are close enough to pick up).

Walnutts will be able to retire after re-selling all these engines!

@Nick. Funny how things workout sometimes. I gifted that vertical electric Marklin to Mirko in Germany, and it ended up in Scott’s collection, and now we do not know where it will land.
