 was going through all my steam engine files yesterday and came across these that I haven't seen for awhile.
Just holding them and thinking about the age of them and transporting myself back as to what it
would have been like for a young boy reading these instructions and joining the Bowman club
and mailing off your Bowman letter to the company.......just an amazing feel good experience it was for me.

Ephemera can often tell you more about the place ... and especially the times, than the steam engine or other physical item itself can.

Sure does look to be a first-class marketing ploy, that Bowman Club thing!    ;c)

Its pretty cool to think these have been retained and preserved for coming up to 100 years.

I like the part where it asks for 2 friends who "DO NOT" have a Bowman steam engine, do you reckon they got a solicitor's letter in the mail a few weeks later?
