Steam Plant
« on: July 10, 2022, 07:25:04 pm »
First run of the steam plant today. I am going to make some changes on how to feed the boiler. The injector was a good idea but the shortcomings outweigh the benefits.

Well that boiler is certainly deserving of the Blue Ribbon!
A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked just fine.

Brad is this the Stuart 504 Boiler with 7 tubes?
That Boiler heats up very fast and produces enough
steam to drive most of the Stuart models. Very nice
presentation with condenser, pump etc. I do like
also your two engines, congrats

Yes, this is the 7-tube Stuart boiler, with the center tube being a superheater. It steams very nicely.

Making some changes to my steam plant. Replaced the hand pump, water tank and replaced the injector with a Coles steam pump. Now to pipe everything.

A rainy day is a great time to finish my new water tank. Soldering the threaded bushings in place.
