Thank you for sharing the story Jan.

Looking forward to seeing it all cleaned up.

That’s great news and a good story too! It makes me feel good when someone saves an oldie from oblivion. Now it will live for another generation.

Well done Jan, you could look for years and not find one. It makes you wonder how many gems have been thrown away through ignorance of their collectable value.... :)

Nice find for a perfect price.
I don't know how long I could have kept a straight face.
Aren't you glad you stopped by!  Now you have to go again.

Unfortunately, in  Brooklyn there are no nice-n-easy
low pressure sales meets - if it has any age or weight
'it must be valuable' is the uninformed sellers mantra.
The asking price would probably have been
at least $200.

By a lotto ticket ASAP,

Thanks guys !

Spot on Frank, definitely looks to be the same model that one.
Someone should make him a 1½ buck offer, having a valid argument on what the current value is

I have another unidentified similar looking Falk, but as i am not at home i can´t make a direct comparison.
I assume that it is slightly larger, sitting there on another base, with a spark arrestor style chimney,
and the boiler fixed at the sides of the firebox, not just soldered at the ends as the one in this thread.
But who knows, might turn out to be the exact same size, and just different vintages...

Good thing you saw it.
Luckily here we have Good Will to donate to but I wonder what they do with items like that. It would have been a shame for it to be in the trash but I understand the previous
 owner's dilemma.

Price is a bonus but for history's sake, good that you found it.

Around here they have a "Showcase" for anything old or valuable. One local Goodwill has weekly or monthly auctions for these items.

Same here, and the items do not go cheap, as it is a charity I will bid what I think is the going rate as I save on the shipping if I bought on Ebay, haven't won an auction yet.  :)
