I am starting this thread which will include all updates as I progress on this project over the coming months.

I will post all updates here instead of multiple threads.   This is a Stuart 504 boiler, provided from Charlie, as mentioned previously.   I set up the initial design and this is a steam test.

Seems to work well!  Governor does its job and the boiler holds steam. Set the safety valve to pop off around 60psi.  Plenty of steam pressure.

I plan on adding a hand feed water pump and a sight glass blowdown, and eventually a PMR generator and lamp.  This is a WIP.

I couldn’t agree with you more.    This hobby is a childhood passion reborn.   It truly is a gift from the gods, and having Charlie just a few miles away he’s made this all happen for me on another level.

I've always hankered after one of these, but it seems unless they have been machined by an absolute expert they are more trouble than they are worth -

Yeah I’m not gonna bother with those.    The hand pumps are honestly great.

Here is my condenser / oil trap set up.

You might ask, how do you empty it?  You undo the union nut and just take it to the sink and hold it upside down.

Will be painting it black.  Also my feed pump arrives soon, and will be adding that, however not entirely necessary since the boiler holds so much water… but it’ll look cool.
