Stuart Turner/London Engine Co. ???
« on: February 05, 2025, 01:09:40 pm »
Was working on this Stuart #9 and discovered “London Engine Co.” inside… I have only found one old post from 2015 of another Stuart #9 on UK ebay, but of course the pics are long gone… Anyone else know anything?

A cool engine in need of some TLC.

I look forward to seeing what you do with it Nick.

Thanks, I have learned that this is not a Stuart No. 9 and was in fact made by London Engine Co.

Will post some comparison pics soon…

Seems very odd having that raise and embossed logo on the inside of the steam chest, if that is in fact where you found it?!?!

Could it be that someone put that plate on backwards? Nice find by the way.

Yes I assume it was just put on backwards as the other eBay reference I found from several years ago mentions the same thing on the cover, but of course those pictures are long gone.
