Yep.  More than the last Cretors brought.  I suppose it
was worth that much to somebody with a fat wallet.  Maybe
it was a wealthy Sipp relative determined to own a piece
of their family history.

I had that one on my radar too .... just to see what it would do. It did far better than I expected, though I knew it would go pretty high, what with that wonderful governor and the really nice (but a bit oversized) oilers.

Sipp's are truly fine engines ..... but not quite that fine as far as my wallet is concerned!!!

This auction was held in Shipshewana (LaGrange County) Indiana which is a large center of Amish. I’m curious to know if the Sipp engine was bought locally.

I was watching because I really wanted the 1” Case which sold for quite a reasonable price.

I was bidding for the SIPP - but with transportation cost to Switzerland in mind
I stopped long before 5000 $ - nice but rather expensive.
Congrats to the winner - a real beautiful pice for a top collection
I also was watching the Cretors - so nice.

Well shoot ,I have (2) 1/2 Hp Sipps in better and more original shape than that one that I would let someone set a higher record on if they wanted to.😊
