A Wunderlich story for you.

Practiced more soldering and so on today on the Wunderlich Shoe Shine Man.
First photo is from 'Symphony in Motion', think that my bloke was a different model; well is now anyhow....

Next is removing some old scale so that the solder will take.

Then his new bench before Ballistol.

Then after a spray with Ballistol

I'm glad you didn't use the wire brush during restoration.😂

Very nice work and a good example of Ballistol working wonders when treating old paint. Thanks for the post.

If you are referring to the wire brush in the second photo Jürgen, I might inform you that this wire brush is is my ‘patented’ soldering iron support to rest my soldering iron upon when it is heated.
Personally I detest the use of a wire brush like grinding wheel as I think that they do more damage than good by removing more than necessary and even eroding the base metal away.

A useful misuse of the wire brush. As for the second part of your answer, Walter, I agree with you 100%.

Solid job. Thanks for sharing another toy with a second shot at life!  This one definately has some Sole.
Love steam engines, especially older German made.  Love the more clockwork style.  Addicted to this stuff!
