Throw back Videos - Post Yours Up

Throwing it back to one of the most time-consuming but rewarding projects I’ve put together getting the custom plumbing and cascading copper pots dialed in for the OKMO Microcosm P71 pump. It took literally hours of silver brazing and fine-tuning, but seeing it cascade without overflowing was incredibly satisfying!

Practice makes perfect! And you certainly got a lot of practice in on that build!

Point of fact however, with no pressure or temperature concerns in that cascading fountain, silver brazing was not truly required, though it did provide a much stronger finished product than had you used a softer solder to assemble it.

Any way that you slice it, that thing came out Tits!!!

I definitely wouldn't say "NO" strength, just quite a bit less strength than what you achieved with silver brazing!

Thanks Jim .... I tried embedding it and just got multiple rows of gibberish that was clickable but did not actually embed the video. I think it is the same situation I'm facing with that other Forum access issue!

If I did it, I'd likely use Stay-Bright 4% that is just about as easy to work with as regular soft solder, but about 4x stronger!

Or heck, maybe I'd just use JB Weld!?!?   ;c)

Probably not going to happen, so don't hold your breath. No idea how long I'm actually going to live, but my current project backlog extends far into the next century, and I somehow doubt I'm going to be able to hang on that much longer. The upshot of all that is, that it seems very unlikely that I'll be taking on any other projects on just a "let's see" basis at this point in life!!!


Oh yeah, and "with pictures", now that's funny, seeing as I haven't been able to post any new photos for a few years now!
