Thank you for the name WGL - but I rather think it could be a prototype of very early WILESCO
because of the Cast Alloy. Wilesco has a large production of household items made from Cast Alloy.
And look at the design - it is close to the Märklin 4097/8 or the Wilesco D24.
Looking forward to a reference...
