Weeden 32 Eureka
« on: November 09, 2025, 12:50:17 pm »
Got this Weeden 32 Eureka from a privat source in Switzerland. The seller was a hard "nut" but after some time
I got the nice looking engine. In my workshop I found out in a short time that it was in a very bad condition.
I had to strip it down completely and resolder the boiler. There was a lot of unprofessional work on it - too
much solder added - badly tinkered. The safety valve had to be repaired with a new bushing - threads made
from bronze on the late with 18 pitch. Then pressure test and I had to install a whistle. I have seen this model
with 2 stars on ea. side and chimney - my specimen has only 1 star ea. side and a large whole in the metal jacket.
After adjusting the timing the engine runs - after 8 hours of labour! I have the original burner wich is a plus but
it gets hot within a short time - for test purpose I used a Fleischmann burner with 3 vaporizers.
