Re: Wilesco D105 question?

I just won this model, it is "new" open box. I needed a D10 engine (assembly) for my Mamod Roadster build(slide valve engine upgrade)
This was poorly listed and I was the only bidder at $100 min bid.
I figured I would have at least $50 into a new D10 engine assembly, so that makes $50 for boiler/base plus lamp and Dynamo.
The Wilesco promo video at about 28 seconds in, they turn out the lights and the lamp only flickers faintly, Does this Dynamo need gearing up to light the lamp fairly bright? Or is it just a low performer?
I have a use for the boiler, but the Dynamo may go back on the market....I could mount it on a wood board, that seems to make it worth more on ebay 8)

I like the D10 varieties,  I believe its the smallest slide valve plant Wilesco offers. I do wish it had a larger boiler though. I'm not sure why the generator is not putting out better, my experience with Wilesco Gennys is the drive spring usually slips around that too small drive pulley.
