Back in May I posted some pictures of this heavy metal steam engine on wheels.
Now that summer is over and the cottage has been winterized and closed, stuff here at home
can be attended to. This was one of them.
I popped off the bottom that was only held on by three tabs. What I found inside was very
surprising to say the least.
It's electrically heated. There are two ports on the lower front face of the boiler that are
insulated from the boiler.
The inside was stuffed with (My luck Asbestos fibers), which was dug out with a bamboo stick
while holding the hose to the HEPA filtered vacuum right up close. There are tubes with coiled
elements and insulators running through them. After doing a continuity test, which it passed.
It seems to be almost ready to try. Oh wait a minute, the safety valve needs a new spring.
After my yard work is done and I go to the hard ware, another update will be following.
In the meantime, here are some pics of what was found. Enjoy.
