From here I'd say that it surely does look like it would be great fun to run that set-up!

Quite the wrap around workshop you have going there ....  NICE!!!

I pulled my little P M Research steam plant out of mothballs this morning . I haven't steamed it in more than about three years . I belted it up to the machine shop I have shown here before . I can run either steam engine individually , but not both at the same time . That little boiler just can't handle them both . here are some pictures .

Thank you, Raphael.  The site didn't have my Sieg information, but it does have quite an assortment of interesting things worth a second look.

Persistence and reaching out brought success.  Today, in email I got a drawing of the SX1P side-wheel assembly. If I can't locate a source for the OEM parts, it should be manageable to make something similar.

This setup is probably much like the z-lift on Stoker's G0704 mill, but a lot smaller.

Hi,

I'd read that the best product in America for removing oil and residue from bare metal before priming and painting is 409.  However this information is at least 20 years old and was from an auto body repair site.

Is there a better option out there that I can purchase here in the States?  Or should I go with 409?

Paul

I don't know about the Sieg machines, but I have a Grizzly G0704 mill of a similar style Z axis handle, and it has bevel gears. Seems to work fairly well with a reasonable minimum of lash.
